    Documentary like poetry... what a sad and beautiful idea! This was a great piece that begins to touch on the issue of how we as a society understand ourselves and how we are portrayed to ourselves in the media. Reality television certainly is a more constructed version of "real life," but I would ask how do these documentary filmmakers feel that their films are part of constructing reality? What makes documentary different from reality TV? I think documentaries certainly have a much greater social conscience, and are (generally speaking) made more from a desire to explore an issue deeper than from a desire to make money. But I would love to hear what all those documentary filmmakers out there think...
