    true, this topic has been covered a lot but as long as the contradiction of marijuanas illegal-yet-practically legal status remains, the issue is relevant. Many people who aren't from here find it extremely interesting and take it as a sign of freedom in Vancouver.

    Same old, same old I'm afraid. I think Vancouver culture is known more for its endless string of documentaries on Marc Emery and the Cannabis Scene. Most of these advocates don't have any thing new nor relevant to add to the issue here, and they normally end up talking in circles. BTW I Did feel threatened while shooting for a doc at the 420, and there was an undeniable criminal/gang presence there. How about that argument? Vancouver is also getting the reputation of being one of the most violent of cities in the country. Taking the criminal element out of the production and distribution of any narcotic is always the safest way to go. See: Prohibition, Al Capone...
