Wings re-sign Filppula for 5 years
The model NHL franchise has locked up another key ingredient to their team, signing the Fin to a 5-year $15 million deal. Filppula saw an increase of about 5 minutes per game last season on average and scored 19 goals and 36 points in 78 games. How about 5 goals and 11 points in 22 playoff games as well in the Wings Cup run?Filppula is another one of those guys that the Wings managed to find later in the draft (95th overall in 2002).
