Peter Ladner, the NPA councillor, is challenging incumbent mayor Sam Sullivan for the nomination.
The two are scheduled to square off in a debate from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel, where voting is taking place throughout the day between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Four of the NPA's parks board nominations are up for grabs as well.
Results of voting are expected by 6 p.m. tonight.
