The Vancouver Canucks have announced that forward Trevor Linden will make a 'special announcement' at General Motors Place tomorrow morning, amidst reports that Linden will announce his retirement.
Linden was given a send-off befitting a retiring great after the final game of the season, but refused to confirm if he wound hang up his skates for good. Numerous reports now say Linden will make it official Wednesday morning.
Linden had just 7 goals and 5 assists in 59 games this past season--his 19th season in the NHL. In 1,382 career regular season games, Linden has 375 goals and 492 assists for 867 points. But he was mostly known for his leadership, and clutch goals in the playoffs.

I just want to say that I post this up with a heavy heart, as Trevor was a guy I literally grew up watching, especially in '94. He was always a Canuck, even when he was gone, and when he came back, it was like he never left.
That jersey will be lifted into the rafters opening night next season, Trevor will get a front office position and stay around for a while longer. His wife actually owns a clothing store right under my office building in Yaletown, and Trevor has been seen more than a few times around the area. I'd like to see that continue, one way or another.
We'll miss you Trev, but we'll never forget the memories. Thank you.
