VANCOUVER, Canada—Shirley Owens was among the audience watching the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at the Bell Performing Arts Centre. She said: "I thouroughly enjoyed it ... immensely. It was well worth the money, that was better than Broadway, better than Disneyland. Very interseting and colorful. Wonderful...very colorful. Very exciting."
Ms Owens said, "the drumming was wonderful [Drummers of the Tang Court] It was so in synch, great!"
Ms Gabe Furling, a semi-retired transportation worker said "I like to go to different types of concerts. It appealed to me that it might be something different something that I'd like to take an interest in.
"It gives you a different idea, a different feel for, a little bit of Chinese culture, the dance. I think it gives you more of a feel for the kind of people for the type of performers, how they instruct themselves."
Ms Furling said she would reccommend the show, "I think to anybody that is interested in something different or something new or a change of pace."
Diane Hick, a Nurse, was another happy member of the audience. She said: "I am quite enjoying it. I think its very professionally done. Its not amateurish at all. I think the performers are very polished. I like the way they introduced each dance or performance so you understood what was going on ahead of time. That was very good. I think what impressed me was that the costumes are beautiful ... the dancing is very well done. You can see they are professional by the way they conduct their performance you can tell they are well educated or well trained in what they do."
