The Man That Brought The NBA to Vancouver Might Run For the Liberals

Arthur Griffiths, former owner of the Vancouver Canucks and first owner of the Vancouver Grizzlies, and the man that brought GM Place to our landscape is considering a run for provincial office with Gordon Campbell's Liberals.
The Griffiths family has been in Vancouver for a long time, and he is a well respected man, even if he did sell the Canucks and Grizzlies to seperate American businessmen who turned around and in the Canucks case, largely stripped down the organization, and in the Grizzlies case, ended up moving the team to Memphis
I think he can be a good, high profile 'star' candidate for the Liberals, especially with Carole Taylor, the likely successor to Gordon Campbell, stepping aside after one term in office. Campbell will likely win another term, go through the Olympics as Premier, and then step aside. The only problem is that now that Taylor is leaving, there isn't someone there to take the reigns of the party and province, which could lead to Carole James and the NDP sliding into power.
I'm not sure even if Griffiths is going to run, but he says he will decide one way or another by the end of the month, and if he does, he is in a very good position to serve some time on the benches, get some experience, and then make a run for the top job in 2011.
