Skytrains and S%*t

I was talking to a friend of mine earlier today, and he suggested that there should be bathrooms at Skytrain stations.
At first I thought it was a terrible idea, but then I realized he was right, as there is space to develop some facilities somewhere in most stations. That has been confirmed even more by the amount of coffee shops either built or being built right on the platform. Commercial Drive has this treatment now, Granville just got a Tim Horton's and there is a Waves being built at Stadium.
Obviously you would have a problem with a homeless element coming in, but after I saw something outside the Science World Skytrain today, my mind was changed. There is a public toilet there, but it is solid chrome, has a Star Trek-esque sliding door and is cleaned regularly by an outside company.
There are already Skytrain security at the stations, who could monitor the facilities, there is clearly the aesthetics covered as well, and there is the space.
Is selling free platform space the motivation to not install these kinds of facilities? I sure hope not, but it wouldn't be hard to come to that conclusion.
